Dr. Mahara holds a doctorate in epidemiology and medical statistics from CCKRMU and now works as an associate researcher at the Clinical Research Center of Shantou University Medical College, where he co-supervises 18 doctoral students. With more than 20 years of experience in public health, he has published over 40 papers in journals including the BMJ  and Cardiovascular Diabetology . His honors include Guangdong Province High-Level Foreign Talent (Category A) and the Nepal Knowledge Medal.
