Dr. Shiwakoti completed both his master's in general surgery (2014) and doctorate (2017) at Beijing Friendship Hospital. He now works as a surgical registrar at Nepal's Civil Service Hospital and as a consultant in general and laparoscopic surgery at Innovative Hospital, Kathmandu, and was awarded an IAGES fellowship in 2025. His research on surgical outcomes in colorectal cancer has appeared in international journals. He speaks English, Chinese, and Nepali.
